I think copper crush washers can go indefinitely w/o causing a leak but what about fiber crush washers? How many miles do you think a fiber washer for an oil drain plug can go before it breaks and starts leaking oil after an oil change? 10k miles? 20k miles?How long would it take before oil started leaking out of the oil drain from using a fiber washer?
If you torque it right it will never leak. Just snug it up.
